Desired Amenities and Services: Top Choice

Mass transit was the service or amenity most often selected by area residents as the one they would like to see more of. Interestingly, it was selected more often by whites than minorities, by middle-aged and older adults more than younger adults, and by those with higher levels of education than lower levels. However, given transit was chosen by only 16 percent of respondents, no single amenity or service dominated the selections. If we group outdoor activities and parks and recreation opportunities together, however, half of area residents chose an amenity out of this group.
